The objective of ”Go European” This project started in 2014 and will last for two years. The main areas for improvement are staff competences ; new teaching methods and tools, language competences and increased understanding of cultural diversity. The European dimension is an important contribution to increase the understanding about similarities and differencies within the international profession.

” Go European” Staff training abroad is an important way to find out how the foreign school systems work. The objective is also to have a closer look at the learning environment. Networking will be a tool for future cooperation and to build a structure for the intercultural understanding and initialising the European Dimension in our school and into the curriculum.

Vilnius, Lithuania Staff: Helen Hilmersson, teacher Linda Sagheim, teacher Time : until School visited: Karalienes Mortos Mokykla i Vilnius, Litauen Contact:Aušra Rakštelytė

Something I will bring back to my organisation: Linda Sagheim Different school cultures Different situations for teachers compared to Järfälla.

Something I will bring back to my organisation: Helen H To see education from another perspective in another country See English being taught ( everyone spoke English) Assistants doing after school activities More science based activities than in Järfälla A science fair for pupils and parents A feeling of belonging, respect and solidarity with both school and with others Every Assembly finished with the singing of the Natioanl hymn There is a very positive ambiance in the school

London, UK Staff: Thomas Jäder Johan Åkerstedt Time: Schools visited: Alfred Salter Primary School London Contact: Ellinor Bertheau

Something I will bring back …Thomas Jäder I am more surprised by the simularities than the differencies in our school systems. Higher level of security in English schools. High fences and locked gates. Järfälla seems to have improved situations about the working conditions, levels of sound, rooms and furniture. A pedagogical evaluation is made on the most talented students

Something I will bring back…Jonas Åkerstedt Maureen, Enrichment co-ordinator, who was in charge of the most talented students so they were given challenges… Pupil´s council Met with Barn Spoon who runs a private workshop on woodwork in the outskirts of London Meeting with Stuart H and Karen about the school

Ireland Staff: Klara Janunger Jenny Johansson Yasemin Unver Time: Schools visited;

Something I will bring back…

The EU-project will lead to Extended European cooperation Raised awareness of different school systems Raised cultural awareness Extended language knowledge New methods and tools Empowerment of staff

”Go European” Thanks for your attention!
