Danielson Framework 3D – Using Assessment in Instruction

Outcomes By the end of this session, participants will: Gain a deeper understand of component 3d: “Using Assessment in Instruction” as it specifically relates to teacher-created rubrics Develop a kid-friendly rubric.

Using Assessment in Instruction Framework for Teacher Evaluation Independently, read pages 75 – 79 in your Teacher Evaluation Handbook (second section). Share at your table: What were your takeaways from this section? What stood out to you? What differences do you see between performance levels?

What do you already use? Chart at your table: What assessment tools are you currently using in your classroom that fit what you read for 3d? Assessment Tools

Rubrics in the Classroom What rubrics have you used in the classroom? What has worked well? What hasn’t? Why?

Student Driven Rubrics In groups of 3… Explore the rubrics at your table Discuss how the given rubrics could be developed, presented, or utilized to meet the highest levels of performance.
