PROFICIENCY BOOT CAMP Remember those proficiency pre- assessments we took in August? This week, we will be looking at those proficiency assessments to see how we can improve our reading, writing and speaking for our proficiency post- assessments.

Boot Camp Day 1: Writing Warm Up You will be given a slip of paper On the slip of paper you will be writing as much as you can to answer the question that is on the board IN SPANISH Try to level-up as best as you can! Use those transition words!

Snowball fight! Crumple up your paper and throw it into the center of the room toward the projector Pick up a piece of paper and uncrumple it Give the person who wrote it a proficiency level grade Write down WHY they got that grade Write down 2 suggestions/additions they could make to improve their proficiency level

Boot Camp Day 2: Peer Editing Groups of 3-5 Each group has a proficiency assessment Read over the assessment and as a group identify which level it’s at Add to it! Rewrite it and level it up with – transition words – more information (*you can make up the information—I just want you to practice including MORE in your writing!)

Competition Introduce yourself and tell something about your personality (10 points) Talk about your typical day, from the time that you get up until you go to bed, including after school activities (30 points) Describe the typical meal that you eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner (30 points) Describe how your routine changes on the weekends (30 points)
