2 THE HEART The main function of your heart is to push blood to your lungs and through your blood vessels then carry blood back to your heart. The heart performs this function by beating two thousand million times over the course of your lifetime. In one year, the heart beats more than thirty million times. Other systems that depend on the heart are the lungs. If your heart didn’t pump blood to your lungs you would die because you wouldn’t be able to breathe.

4 THE RED BLOOD CELLS The main function of the red blood cells is to carry oxygen to all of the other cells in your body. Other systems that depend on the red blood cells is the heart. There are red blood cells that are all over your body. Blood from your heart flows through your veins that have red blood cells in them. The human body helps the red blood cells function by being active and getting exercize. So the heart pumps more blood faster to your brain. One types of disease that the red blood cells is susceptible to is Anemia.

6 THE ARTERIES AND VEINS The main function of the arteries and veins is to move deoxygenated and oxygenated blood throughout the body. How the veins and arteries pass blood throughout the body is from the heart. The heart pumps the blood through the different veins and arteries. How the H.B.C is dependent on veins and arteries is there would be no possible way to transport blood. The arteries transport blood away from the heart. The diseases that the veins and arteries can get is Thrombosis, Embolism, Aneurysm, and Varicose.
