Each one must give as he has decided in his heart not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” (2 Corinthians 9:6-7).
6
Here are some things to keep in mind
7
1) It’s ALL His.
8
2)He has given everything to us that we have for two reasons
9
to provide for the needs of our life
10
AND to enable discipleship in the world.
11
This puts money in its place-a tool with which to work God's will in our life.
12
“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in
13
and steal. But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do
14
not break in or steal; for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also (Matt. 6:19-21).
15
RIGHT MOTIVES FOR GIVING:
16
God has given so much to me.
17
I want God to be glorified.
18
I want my heart to be right before God.
19
I want God to be my master.
20
I want my life to be used by God.
21
I want to lay up treasures in heaven.
22
I want my faith to grow.
23
I want to be a compassionate person.
24
I want to be a worshiper of God.
25
“Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much
26
blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.“ (Malachi 3:10b)
