Thinking outside the box… “Which sewing item/items in your opinion do NOT belong and why?” Consider alternative points of view. (The visual of the sewing items were placed in class Doc Sharing area.) Sewing items are: a blue thread ripper, red thread, clear hanger, white needle-threader, white zipper, yellow thimble, gray buttons, and a clear dress maker’s ruler. Use your imagination by “thinking outside-the-box.” 8

What is POLC? 11

What is meant by Planning? 12

What is a company’s definition of a Mission? 15

What is meant by Strategic Vision? 16

Referring back to Unit reading Students must refer back to their Unit reading in their discussion posts and assignments. Know editorial writing style. In our discussion area it can be something as simple as saying: “In our Unit (Kaplan University (KU), AB140-15, 1101B, Unit 3) reading, it was stressed, “…” therefore, I feel, “….” Demonstrate to the class (and me) that you read and understood the class required reading material. For our class assignments, an editorial style is written in the body of your assignment, as such (example only): As our class learning activity article “Critical Thinking and Reading Comprehension” stated: “An active reader fully involves himself or herself in the reading process, which facilitates greater understanding of the subject matter (KU, Bateman & Snell, 2009, p. 3).” Then the proper information is placed on your separate reference sheet of your assignment at the end of your activity. 17

How do you write a cited source from an online site? 18

Any General Questions? Seminar is coming to an end, soon. Let’s wrap-up the evening. 19
