1 Friday – February 8, 2013 Mr. Lombardi Do Now: Copy the academic vocabulary 1.Holocaust: The attempted genocide (extermination) of European Jews and others by Nazi Germany during World War II. 2.Contaminate: polluted or impure; ruined. 3.Nuremburg Laws: anti-Semitic laws in Nazi Germany (anti- Jewish) 4.Kristallnacht: On November 9th, 1938, Nazis in Germany looted, and burned Jewish stores and Synagogues, often beating Jews in the street. Over 90 Jews were killed. Also called Night of Broken Glass Aim: How did Hitler persecute the Jews?

3 Some theories are: His mother was reported as having worked as a maid for a wealthy Jewish family. She was fired from that job after becoming pregnant, and it was assumed that the father was the husband of the house. This would make Hitler part Jewish, through the father. He was mentally ill.
