Dex Alexander The Debate No clear consensus: “Increasingly, the issue of the relationship between accessibility and usability in web design is being discussed; at conferences, on mailing lists and websites, and in meetings and discussions between those who work in these fields. However, despite a growing interest in the issue, much of the discussion has suffered from a distinct lack of clarity and depth. This leaves our understanding of the relationship unclear, and practitioners and advocates of either approach unsure about how this could or should impact on our work. ”

Note that: UK legislation covers usability and accessibility issues (this may not be the case elsewhere) There us a clear need to consider both usability and accessibility issues.
