Previously certified as EMT-B(Emergency Medical Technician) Paramedic School takes up to 2 years. Most are college classes with associate degrees. Paramedics are required to have 72 hours of continuing education per year Have a continuing CPR(cardiopulmonary resuscitation and ACLS (advanced cardiac life support) certifications
