Who? The meteor wiped out all dinosaurs There were over 700 different species Scientists believe more will be discovered

Where? Meteor struck the Yucatan peninsula Area is now known as Chicxulub

When? Dinosaurs ruled the world for nearly 200 million years Other animals played a secondary role They disappeared between 65-66 million years ago

What Happened? A meteor struck with a six mile diameter Impact generated enough debris to block sun Killing most impact survivors of starvation

Survivors Fresh water organisms They were accustomed to fresh water freeze Dealt with low temperatures

After the impact Left a crater 12 miles deep and 124 miles wide Third largest impact to Earth New organisms formed
