2. “Animal, Vegetable, or Mineral?” is a two-payer guessing game in which one player picks an object and the other player tries to figure out what the object is by asking a few yes/no questions as possible. Players always begin by asking if the object is an animal, a vegetable, or a mineral and then decide what new questions to ask based on the answer. The best players are able to gather information quickly and make inferences that lead to a correct guess after asking very few questions.

3. The Activity This activity is a variation on this game. You are going to think of a common object and write a detailed description of the object. However, you are going to be careful not to say exactly what the object is. Then, you will exchange papers with another student, read the description he or she has written, and see if you can guess what that student is trying to describe. Write your name and guess underneath the description.

4. READY, SET, GO… Remember, do not say exactly what the object is.
