HUE: The name of a color VALUE: The lightness or darkness of a color INTENSITY: The brightness or dullness of a color

Tints: add white to create a lighter color Value creates the illusion of volume, light & space Shades: add black to create a darker color.

The implied or actual surface quality: Smooth, rough, bumpy, glossy, etc. Texture

Hatching & Cross Hatching Line can be used to create value and textures
