3 Habitat and Range Habitat- Wood Storks live in fresh water swamps. Range-They live in Georgia, Florida, Alabama and South Carolina.

5 Reason for Endangerment The water level in the swamp has gone down because of man-made levees, canals, and flood gates that alter water flow.

6 Protective Measures Taken The water level is being managed to help the Wood Stork have food and a place to nest.

7 Interesting Facts The adult Wood Stork’s bill color is black. The young Wood Stork’s bill color is yellow. They protect their eggs from other animals by attacking them. They do not make any noise. The male and female look alike.
