Ratio = a comparison of two quantities by division. You can write a ratio in different ways Arithmetic ways: 10 to 15 or 10 : 15 or 10 / 15 Algebra ways A to B A : B A / B, for B ≠ 0 *How do you read a ratio? How do you set up a ratio from a word problem?

Rate: a ratio that compares quantities in different units. Unit rate: a rate that has a denominator of 1 Ex: unit cost, gas mileage, and speed
