Stationary wheelies. Ascending/descending a curb. Relevance – With reduced rehabilitation time, patients with SCI who become full-time manual wheelchair users may not receive adequate wheelchair skill training before discharge.

Each learned three wheelchair skills followed by testing: – Skill competency test. – Retention test. – Transfer test. Paired t-tests used to examine training time, spotter intervention needed, and successful rate of performance. Repeated-measures analysis of variance and Bonferroni adjustment test used to examine differences between groups on wheelchair skills and tests.
