3 Volume To Find the volume, you first must find the formula for the area of the cross section. You then integrate the cross sectional area over the interval.

4 Example A door knob is created by rotating the the curve f(x) = 2 + cos(x) on the interval [-6,1] about the x axis. Find the volume of the solid that is created.
