Purpose I CHOSE CCSS STANDARD: CC.K.CC. 1-3, 5-8- writing to compose opinion pieces in which they tell a reader the topic or the name of the book they are writing about and state an opinion or preference about the topic or book; Use a combination of drawing, dictating, and writing to compose informative/explanatory texts in which they name what they are writing about and supply some information about the topic. Use a combination of drawing, dictating, and writing to narrate a single event or several loosely linked events, tell about the events in the order in which they occurred, and provide a reaction to what happened. With guidance and support from adults, respond to questions and suggestions from peers and add details to strengthen writing as needed. Participate in shared research and writing projects (e.g., explore a number of books by a favorite author and express opinions about them). With guidance and support from adults, recall information from experiences or gather information from provided sources to answer a question. 3. The zebra lived in the safari. He was happy, but very hungry. He started to get weak. He said “ I wish I could be as fast as a lion.” His came true.

4. The zebra was trying to reach a leaf. I am too small. “I wish I could be a giraffe.” He said. His wish came true. He was very happy.

5. The zebra became very thirsty. “ I wish I could drink like an elephant.” His wish came true. He was very happy.

6. The zebra was feeling excited. “I wish I could run as fast as a cheetah.” His wish came true. He was happy.

7. The zebra was feeling shy. “I wish I could hide like a snake.” His wish came true. He was very happy.

8. The zebra was beginning to get very sleepy. “I wish I could be myself.” He was very happy.

9. Reflection I learned how to use a camera. I liked making my zebra look all mixed up.
