International Leadership Forum 2015 - Honduras One Shared Strategy Collaboration within the WEA

International Leadership Forum 2015 - Honduras Where I come from
3
International Leadership Forum 2015 - Honduras Collaboration Levels National Local churches form local Alliances National Networks Association of Free Churches / Reformed Church Regional National Alliances EA-Networks Related organizations like European Leaders Forum Global REA's & NEA's Networks, Global Partners, Associates and Friends of the WEA 'Public Square involvement': UN, government bodies etc. Church bodies like: RCC / WCC / LCWC / Denominations
4
International Leadership Forum 2015 - Honduras Collaboration... is about building relationships... is an attitude and not a project... is about understanding needs & interests, struggles and desires (ours & those of partners)... is about defining the common interests while keeping our own interests in mind... is about defining the structures we need to move things forward
5
International Leadership Forum 2015 - Honduras Some basic Assumptions To serve and equip is part of our EA mandate Equipping the saints and serving the local church is where the rubber meets the road and where the WEA ultimately „delivers“. Every issue should be tackled on the ‘lowest’ possible level of the organization, as close as possible to the basis of our constituency (subsidiarity). Difference between seeing WEA as a ministry and a platform for collaboration (dance floor)
6
International Leadership Forum 2015 - Honduras Dreams That we commit to integrate Regional Alliances into the WEA structures (Pyramid?),... clarify the chaos around our WEA Networks,... commit to healthy networks, and... develop leadership structures that allow for direct engagement of regions and networks.
7
International Leadership Forum 2015 - Honduras Dreams We commit to integrate Regional Alliances into the WEA structure (Pyramid?), while allowing for differences and acknowledging our Structured Network reality. E.g. flexibility for linguistic „regions“. A commitment to Regional Alliances
8
International Leadership Forum 2015 - Honduras Dreams Together we define WEA Core Issues. These can be represented by WEA Commissions or Global Partners. All the other task forces, initiatives, commissions and Global Partners are networks around global concerns or are WEA services. We commit to help the defined Core Commissions to develop regional and national structures. A commitment to healthy networks
9
International Leadership Forum 2015 - Honduras Dreams We need structures that allow for direct engagement of regions and networks. E.g.: - An "ILF Executive Team" that brings together the leaders from global WEA, Regional General Secretaries and leaders of core commissions. - An „Extended ILF“ with wider participation - Regional General Assemblies that serve the needs of the whole constituency (WEA Global, REA, NEA‘s, Networks). We develop structures that facilitate collaboration
10
International Leadership Forum 2015 - Honduras Stories of successful collaboration Interaction, the national Micah movement within the EA Switzerland Disaster Response Task Force
11
International Leadership Forum 2015 - Honduras Collaboration within the WEA Looking at collaboration issues within the WEA, what is/are the main point(s) that you would want this ILF to commit to before we leave from here? Viendo los asuntos de colaboración dentro de la WEA, ¿Cuáles son el/los punto(s) principal(es) en los que le gustaría ver a este ILF comprometido antes de salir de esta reunión? Discussion Question
