4. INTRODUCTION Malaysia is a country with various racial and multicultural diversity. Multi-culture not only unifies people from different backgrounds but also is a national icon of our country's unique identity. To ensure the continuity of inheritance of civilization and cultural understanding to the next generation, Sekretariat Pesta Tanglung organized Pesta Tanglung Ke- 34 with Pusat Kebudayaan UKM and Artisukma UKM at Dectar from 1st June to 10th December 2013. Thus, "Understanding Culture Basis of Culture" was the main theme of the 34th Lantern Festival UKM. In the conjunction with the 34th Lantern Festival UKM, we hope to provide a cultural awareness among Malaysians and build a close-knit between races for national unity.

5. In Lantern Festival, I held a post as a member of the exhibition. First of all, we were given the task to think about the decoration at three entrances of the Dectar: main entrance, lobby A and lobby B. The decoration was based on the theme “1970s vintage trend”. In order to bring out the theme fully, I searched on the Internet to get the relevant information of food, dress, music and design in the 1970s. I watched some videos as reference. The internet provided me with numerous sources of information. I read through websites to have a basic idea. I made notes on relevant information and analysed possible solutions and pitfalls.

6. Finally, I finalised my ideas to decorating entrance with red lanterns, celebrities' posters and music records. We then presented our ideas to the executive.

7. In the fourth meeting, I was assigned the task to decorate the Dectar main entrance with other members. We decided to decorate the main entrance of Dectar like cinema in 1970s vintage trend. Each member was required to write a poem presenting the theme of “being together”. In this stage, my poem was chosen as it expresses: people away from home would miss their hometown the most in full moon, the destiny brings them together.
