Petrovany 2. Močarmany 3. Vysielač

History In historical records the village was first mentioned in 1304 The village was built around the St. Peter's Church Petrovany belonged to: a noblemen from Šebastová (in the 15thcentury) Kenedyovci (in the 16th century) Forgáchovci (in the 17th century) Szirmayovci (in the 19th century) People worked in the forest or they were a farmers Jednotné roľnícke družstvo (JRD) was founded in 1949

Jozef “Jožko“ Príhoda Popular folk singer He was born on 20th April 1930 He performed at the National Theatre in Kosice after he finished high school Jozef wrote many poems and songs He worked as a soloist in the PUĽS (Podduklianský ukrajinský ľudový súbor). He met his wife there. He was one of the founders of folklore ensembles Šarišan Songs: Ej, ftačku jarabačku, A od Prešova v tim poľu, Šumna ja dzivečka, A našemu starostovi, Ore śedlak na hureZaśpivam vam śpivanečku v čistej šariščine... Jozef died in 1987

Jozef Jacko Professor at the Faculty of Philosophy in Presov, writer He was born on 15th March 1928 He studied at the Faculty of Philosophy in Bratislava Jozef Jacko taught at: High school in Vranov nad Topľou where he met his wife, Department of Slovak Language and Literature in Presov, Department of Slovak Language and Literature in Kosice, High school in Košice, Faculty of Education in Presov, Pavol Jozef Safarik University, University of Presov He wrote: Textbook of Slovak language for primary schools, Petrovany v sedemstoročnom jubileu, he wrote for magazines and for Slovak Radio... Jozef died in 2004
