Update from DCMF MIG Claire Campbell Chair – DCMF MIG 02 February 2012 1 | Energy Networks Association - DCMF

Work In progress Working group have produced a principles and guidance document relating to a common approach. Stage two – draft an ITT for a consultant to construct a common template model. MIG 01- Commonality of the network (500MW) model COG Connections sub-group established under leadership of Paul McGimpsey The MIG can not act on this until COG sub-group reports back Target DCUSA Panel date – July 2012 MIG 07 (inc 17) – Excess capacity management and de-energised site charges ToR updated to remove reference to GDA definition being out of scope. DNOs currently assessing the number of HV connected generators that are connected to GDA primary substations. Next meeting – 28 February MIG 10 (inc 4) - Generation in demand rich areas Drafting a DCP which will focus on addressing the discrepancies between PC 5-8 and HH market. Continue to review the analysis for PC1-4 and unmetered supplies. Next meeting – 7 February MIG 12, 22 and 02 - Use of HH and NHH forecast data for costing 02 February 2012 2 | Energy Networks Association - DCMF

Open Issues In the plan to start July 2012 MIG 15 – Time of day time bands to Seasonal time of day time bands In the plan to start April 2012 MIG 16 - De-Linking This issue is about the application of excess reactive power unit charges and its impact on incentives for customers to install reactive power compensation equipment. This issue will likely be progressed in the “supergroup” that is scheduled to be formed after the CDCM Annual Review process MIG 28 - Application threshold for excessive reactive power unit charges Nominated Calculation Agent (HV and EHV splits) DCM Sub-Group deliver service provider Calculations of HV and EHV splits due by October 2012 MIG 29 – Recalculating EHV splits in Extended Method M

Other Matters (1) Two DCPs have been drafted to incorporate both the method M and extended method M into DCUSA – these have been circulated to the MIG and will be submitted to the May DCUSA Panel Meeting. Moving the Price Control Disaggregation Model under DCUSA governance DCP has been drafted to change the method of scaling in the CDCM model Possibility of allocating other costs to potentially reduce the level of scaling to be applied. MIG 27 - Excessive charges in red time band Long Term Products - ITT Customer Contributions Combining Method M and Extended Method M (including mapping of new RRP tables) CDCM User Manual Workstream C 02 February 2012 4 | Energy Networks Association – DCMF

Other Matters (2) Standing MIG agenda item that discusses the progress of all the sub-groups, and also how any of the group’s issues may interact with other areas being analysed within the MIG and the best way to progress Interaction between MIG sub-groups Thursday 1 March 2012 (MIG Issue Forms to be returned by 20 February) Annual Review Workshop Participation is essential for this to work MIG Issues “Supergroup” Wednesday 22 February 2012 Date of next meeting
