2 I MAGINARY N UMBERS  An imaginary number is defined as:  The square root of any negative number is defined as follows:  Complex Numbers are written in the form: Imaginary Part Real Part

3 G RAPHING C OMPLEX N UMBERS  The x-axis represents the “real axis”  The y-axis represents the “imaginary axis”  (3 - 4i) is graphed like (3, -4)

4 A BSOLUTE V ALUE  The absolute value of a complex number is the distance from the origin on the complex number plane  Finding absolute value:
