Our field trip is going to be on April 19,2011, to Washington on the Brazos. Washington on the Brazos state historic site is the place we will be going during our 4 th grade field trip. I can assure you it will be lots of fun! I`m 99% sure you will enjoy visiting this AMAZING place! This is a park, but it has its own museum. What a popular place!

The Birth place of Texas Washington on the Brazos is known as the birth place of Texas because there, Texas declared independence from Mexico. Town leaders lobbied for Washington’s designation as the permanent capital of the republic of Texas, but the leaders of the republic passed over Washington in favor of Waterson, which later was renamed Austin.
