Everman’s Kindergarten Kapers betsy.everman@boyle.kyschools.us 859-236-7688 November 24, 2014 betsy.everman@boyle.kyschools.us Classroom Happenings: Over the River – Tonight!!! Kids are to be in the classroom at 5:00. We will perform in the gym at 5:30. Bring your camera! Halloween Candy – If you have old Halloween candy lying around (that your kids don’t like) send it in. We will put it in our treat jar – someone else might like it. Winter Wonderland – Dec. 8 th we will walk to the high school for Winter Wonderland. The Family and Consumer Science class will provide snacks, crafts, games, and a visit from Santa & his elves. Gingerbread Houses – During our Dec. 8 th trip to McDowell Place we will be decorating Gingerbread Houses. We will need lots of icing and candies to decorate. Please see the back for what your child needs to send in for the Gingerbread Houses. We will also need lots of volunteers the week before and that day. Come and join the fun! Christmas Luncheon – This is a tradition at Woodlawn where everyone dresses up and we eat lunch together as a classroom family. Our cafeteria is transformed into a fancy restaurant and our loving parents are the waiter. Dates to Remember and Gingerbread House treats needed are on the back. Gift Exchange - for all you early shoppers we will be having a gift exchange for the class. Please bring a wrapped $5 gift by Dec. 16 th (you can send it in anytime after Thanksgiving). Elves will sneak into our room & put up our Christmas tree over the break! Boys get a gift for a boy & girls get a gift for a girl. Please write on the tag “To a boy from Johnny” or “To a girl from Susie”. If you need help with getting a gift please let me know. Mrs. E.’s Christmas Gift -”All I want for Christmas are two tied shoes!” Try to read that sentence with the tune “All I want for Christmas are my two front teeth” in your head. The only Christmas present I would like is for your child to learn to tie their own shoes, button and unbutton their pants & zip their jackets. There is a section on the report card for “independence” and this is something they really need to be able to do by January. Celebrations Around the World - We will begin studying – Celebrations Around World. If you have post cards, stories, connections, or souvenirs from other countries we would love to share them with the class
