Public Welfare 1. Public Health- operate public hospitals 2. Medicaid- w/ help of feds.

3. Cash Assistance- Welfare A. AFDC (1936-1996) Aid to families w/dependent children B. TANF (now) Temporary assistance to needy families 1. Limits welfare total of 5 years in their lifetime 2. Work in some form of vocational training/community service Public Welfare
