2 Conditional sentences
-Contain a condition and a result “If this thing happens, then that thing happens.” If I eat late at night, I don’t sleep well. if clause (condition) main clause (result)

3 present real conditional sentences
- Describe real facts, general truths, habits, or routines. If you heat water to 100 degrees, it boils.

4 present real conditional sentences
- How do you form present real conditionals? if + present simple, ... present simple If you heat ice, it melts. If I take a bus, I always bring a book.

5 present real conditional sentences
Give it a try! - With your partner(s), do exercise 1.

6 present real conditional sentences
- The if clause can come before or after the main clause. Use a comma if the if clause comes first. If you touch fire, you get burned. You get burned if you touch fire.

7 present real conditional sentences
- You can begin if clause with “Unless”. “Unless” means the same as “if…not”. You can’t drive a car if you don’t have a license. You can’t drive a car unless you have a driver’s license. -

8 present real conditional sentences
- You can begin if clause with “Even if” when the information in the main clause is unexpected or surprising. Even if I get 10 hours of sleep, I still feel tired. Even if I don’t eat sweets, I still get cavities. -

9 present real conditional sentences
- In Real Conditionals, “when” means the same as “if”. If it rains, the grass gets wet. When it rains, the grass gets wet.

11 future real conditional sentences
- Describes possible conditions in the future and real results. Of course, we can't know what will happen in the future, but it describes possible things, which could easily come true. If she decides to marry him, he will be happy. if clause (condition) main clause (future result)

Promise: If I win the election, I will not raise taxes. Advantages: If you buy a better car, you will get better gas mileage. Disadvantage: If you buy a small car, you wont have as much room.

16 Present & future unreal conditional sentences
- describes situations that are untrue, impossible, or imaginary. It talks about things that will probably not come true. It's subjective; it depends on my point of view. If I had a convertible, I’d be driving along the ocean. (you don’t have a convertible right now) If I won the lottery, I would buy a big house. (it’s unlikely you will win the lottery in the future)

- How do you form present/future unreal conditionals? if + past simple, ... would + base form of verb If I had his number, I would call him. (you don’t have his number, so it can’t be true) If I had a lot of money, I would travel around the world. (probably is not going to be true)

19 present & future unreal conditional sentences
- Could and might can also be used in the main clause. Could is sometimes used in the if clause. If you didn’t have to study, you could go to the movies with us. If I could go anywhere, I would go to New Zealand.
