Let’s Write! Many things in the story are make- believe. Rabbits don't talk and ride on buses. Can you think of other things from the story that are make-believe? For my sentence I'm going to write:
71
Where can you walk through a jetway?
72
Daily Fix-It I like to go in A car?
73
Daily Fix-It I like to go in a car.

Plot Stories have a beginning, a middle, and an end, and what happens during each of those parts of the story is called the plot. At the beginning of the story, what did Max decide? (He wanted to go to Zeke's Palace of Ice Cream to get a Whamburger.) Uncle Bunny said they could go. What happened next in the story? (Max and Uncle Bunny took a bus, train, ferryboat, plane, and subway to get to Zeke's.) What happened at the end of the story? (Max and Uncle Bunny couldn't finish their Whamburgers, so they shared them with Ruby and Grandma.)
75
Realism and Fantasy Max Takes the Train has characters who do things that real animals cannot do. This is a make-believe story. How do bunny rabbits really travel? What kinds of clothes do real rabbits wear? What do bunny rabbits really eat?
