10. Legislative Updates  AB 413 (Chávez) California Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise Program. This bill would delete the provision that only allows a child or spouse to operate the business for purposes of the contracts entered into before death or certification of disability.

11. Legislative Updates  AB 429 (Dahle) Public contracts: preferences: forest products. This bill would require a state agency that contracts lumber or other solid wood products, to give preference, to lumber and other solid wood products that are harvested in compliance with specified sustainable forest certification programs.

12. Legislative Updates  SB 703 (Leno) Public contracts: prohibitions: discrimination. This bill would prohibit a state agency from entering into contracts for the acquisition of goods or services of $100,000 or more with a contractor that discriminates between employees on the basis of gender identity in the provision of benefits.
