How it began… 1900s Parks Mill In 2010, the City began exploring with Martin Marietta the possibility of using a depleted rock quarry for the location of a reservoir Auburn lies within the Mulberry River basin. Within a reasonable distance of Auburn is a medium size river which could serve as a water supply, the Mulberry River at Covered Bridge Rd.

5. Partnership City of Winder was already pulling from the Mulberry River. They had nowhere to store water Winder will utilize the reservoir during drought situations Cost sharing for building of infrastructure and operation costs City of Auburn will use 1.5 million gallons a day; Winder will use 3 million gallons a day during drought Reservoir will hold 1.1 billion gallons of water total
