The March on Washingto n The march of Washington was a event held on August 28 th,1963.The event was held for whites and blacks to have equal rights. Black people could not marry white people in 21 states they could not use the same bathrooms, water fountains, stores and if a white person wanted a black persons seat on a bus had to give it away or they would get arrested.

Facts 1.In 1941 A.Randolph first proposes a march on Washington discrimination in January. 2.On June 25, 1941 president Franklin D. Roosevelt creates the fair employment practices committee. 3.In 1961 president John F. Kennedy takes the office 4.In 1962 A. Phillip Randolph and Bayard Rustin plan The March On Washington. 5.In 1963 The March On Washington for jobs and freedom accrues on August 28 th.

Facts 6.The sixteenth street Baptist church is bombed in Birmingham. 7.President John F. Kennedy is assassinated. 8. President Lyndon Johnson takes the office. 9.Congress passes the civil act of 1964,which bans racil discrimintion.

Facts 10. In 1965 the congress passes the voting rights act, outlawing discriminatory voting practices, on August 6 th,1965. 11.Martin Luther King Jr. is assassinated on April 4 th,1968. 12. Congress passes the civil rights act of 1968, ending housing discrimination, on April 11 th 13. Robert F. Kennedy is assassinated June 5 th 1968.
