Egyptian Unification Key questions: How did the geography of Egypt protect the people? It helped to prevent invasion because of the swamps in the delta to the north, the cataracts on the Nile to the south, and the Western and Easter Deserts on the sides.

Egyptian Unification Who united Upper and Lower Egypt? How did this person do it? The king of Upper Egypt invaded Lower Egypt with his army and he then married a princess from Lower Egypt. He then took to wearing the crown of both kingdoms (double crown) to show his leadership over both.
