Advertising & Promotion We use promotion to bring our product or service to the attention of the target market. Entrepreneurs use promotion to to inform the target market of a new product/service to persuade them to try the product/service, and to remind them that the product/service is still around.

Advertising & Promotion A ttention I nterest D esire A ction Should: attract the attention of your customer, create an interest in the product/service, stimulate a desire to have the product/ service, and encourage the customer to seek out and buy the product/service.

Advertising & Promotion Must answer the following question: Why should the consumer buy your product? Your PRODUCT? Meet needs or solves problems YOUR Product? Differentiate your business from competitors

Advertising & Promotion Focus must always be on what you can do to help the customer. Your advertising and promotion programme must reach most of your customers for the least cost.

Advertising & Promotion The answers to these questions should underpin the advertising and promotional aspects of your business plan: What do you want to happen? How much is that worth? What message will make it happen? What media should be used? How will results be checked?
