CREATIVITY Being creative is an important part of all activities and is important at all levels of performance. In most activities you require creativity in order to devise solutions to different problems, enhance performance and show creative flair. There are many ways in which creativity can enhance performance. For instance, in football the ‘cruyff turn’ can help you gain attacking advantage and wrong foot an opponent.

‘cruyff turn’ In this turn, the attacker quickly drags the ball back, catches the defender unaware and has a time to cross the ball unopposed.

DANCE In some activities, like dance, being creative plays an important part in expressing ideas and emotions in new and original ways. Often performance is linked to accompanying music. Different ideas and themes in dance can be expressed by a motif. Good expressive ideas enable your performance to be interpreted easily and allow you to show different emotions and moods in your presentation. They also allow a range of movements to be improvised and developed from being creative.
