15
Create LUNs from Storage Pool
Storage Pool Type: Pool RAID Type: Mixed: Multi-tiered with mixed RAID types Storage Pool for new LUN: Pool 0 (which you created) User Capacity: 10 GB LUN ID: choose one Number of LUNS: 1 (how many LUNs you need) Select the Name radio button. In the Name field enter your LUN Name Starting ID: you need to choose one if you create more than 1 LUN a time
16
Select the advanced Tab
Set Default Owner: Auto/SPA/SPB Initial Tier Placement: Default one
17
Create LUNs from Raid Group
Storage Pool Type: RAID Group RAID Type: RAID5: Distributed Parity (High Throughput) Storage Pool for new LUN: 0 (which you created) User Capacity: 12 GB LUN ID: choose one Number of LUNS: 1 (how many LUNs you need) Select the Name radio button. In the Name field enter your RG5 LUN Name Starting ID: you need to choose one if you create more than 1 LUN a time
18
Select the advanced Tab
Use SP Write Cache: checked FAST Cache: unchecked No Initial Verify: unchecked Set Default Owner: Auto/SPA/SPB

30
Export NFS file system Choose Data Mover: Data Mover
File System: name you created Path: /File System Root Hosts: Linux Host address
31
NFS exports list
32
Mount the file system Login to the Linux server as root
Create a mount point on the Linux server cd / mkdir /fs1 NFS mount this directory to the exported file system on your Data Mover mount data_mover_ip:/File _system_name /mount_point mount :/EL_NFS1 /fs1
33
Mount the file system Verify the file system df –h cd /fs1 ls –al
Note: By default a new directory is empty. Therefore, when you created your /fs1 directory on the client it was empty. However, after NFS mounting it to your Data Mover, /fs1 is now being redirected to a file system showing lost+found and .etc (hidden) directories. Note: By default a new directory is empty. How to create a CIFS share
Create a virtual data mover Create and mount a file system to a VDM Verify CIFS Service is Started on Data Movers Create a CIFS Interface on the Data Mover Create a CIFS Share at the top-level of a VNX file system Access your CIFS share

40
Create a virtual data mover
Click storage -> CIFS And select VDMs tab
41
Why will create virtual data mover?
One data mover can be mounted to one CIFS server Create more than 1 CIFS server on one physical data mover Easy to manage
42
Create a virtual data mover
Data Mover: choose one Name: vdm_cifs2 Create the configuration using: Default Storage Allocation
43

44
Create and mount a file system to a VDM
Storage > Storage Configuration > File Systems And select file system tab

47
Verify CIFS Service is Started on Data Movers
Storage -> Shared Folders -> CIFS Select the data movers. Verify that the option “CIFS Serice Started:” is checked.
48
Create a CIFS Interface on the Data Mover
Click Setting -> Network -> Settings for File and select the Interfaces tab
49
Create a CIFS Interface on the Data Mover
Data Mover: Select one Data Mover Device Name: Network Device Address: the IP of the interface Name: Enter your CIFS interface Netmask: (auto complete) The Broadcast Address is calculated automatically Do not enter the MTU value Do not enter the VLAN ID value
50
