Manned Missions By Kizzi and Emma
3
Introduction This presentation will tell you about: *Former manned space missions *Complications *What humans can do that robots can’t
4
1:Former Manned Missions Here are some astronauts from former manned missions: *Yuri Gagarin (1961) *Valentina Tereshkova (1963) *Neil Armstrong (1969))
5
2:Complications But of course there can be complications like in1965, Major Edward White was out side of the Gemini 4 for 21 minutes when he sadly lost his life in a capsule fire on the ground.
6
Complications Continued Other problems are: A trip to Mars could take up to two years (inc 2 months on Mars) so there would have to be a lot of food supplies if humans were to be sent There would also have to be a lot of fuel These factors could also cause another problem~ WEIGHT!
7
3: Justifications for a manned mission Only humans are flexible and adaptable to respond to any uncertainties that a mission could entail. Also, there has not yet been a robot, machine or animal created that is intelligent enough to handle going on a mission.
8
4:Reasons Here are some reasons for going on a mission: *To find out if humans will one day be able to live on Mars *To find out more about Mars and our solar system
