3 3 Project Need l Warranted for traffic control signals (2011/2012) l Apple Orchard / Parkway approaches experience delay in peak hours l Planned subdivisions and Greely Village Center will increase traffic volumes, particularly SB to EB movement

4 4 Project Scope l Upgrade intersection control at Apple Orchard/Parkway and Stagecoach: signal or roundabout l Realign Apple Orchard to meet Parkway: normal 4-leg intersection l Accommodate existing & future traffic volumes to 2031 design horizon

5 5 Traffic Control Signal Project Cost Estimate: $1.3 million

6 6 Roundabout Project Cost Estimate: $1.4 million

7 7 Pedestrian/Cyclist Considerations l Traffic signal operating speeds: status quo l Roundabout operating speeds: 30-40 km/h all approaches – geometrically controlled l Cyclists: Wide “shared-use” lanes on Stagecoach, paved shoulders on Apple Orchard/Parkway – per OCP l Pedestrians: Sidewalks/crosswalks to be provided on all corners
