1 TouchPoint Console with OmniPage OCR Add-On Product Walk-through Chris Brown – Product Manager August 17, 2011

2 Login The user must authenticate to the TouchPoint Console as their first step in capturing an OCR scanned document.

3 Allocation The user will then allocate the transaction to a billing code or project number. Once the allocation information has been filled in, the user will select a scan destination, such as “Network Folder” which will output the scan to a specified network path.

4 Scan Delivery The user is asked for specific information about the scan delivery, such as the network path and file name. This information can be pre-filled by the administrator or entered or changed by the user.

5 Delivery Format At this point the user can choose to change the delivery format. The administrator controls what options will be available to the end users. In addition to Searchable PDF (PDF OCR Text), other searchable and editable options are available and described in detail in the Equitrac Scan Solutions Guide.

6 Ready Screen Once the output format is selected the user is moved to the Ready Screen. At this point the MFP will unlock. At the MFP the user will scan to the pre-defined Equitrac scans destination.

7 Scan Preview After the job has been scanned at the MFP a scan preview will be displayed at the TouchPoint Console. The user should check to make sure the scan is oriented properly and appears as expected. The user should then press “Accept” to confirm the scan.

8 Ready Screen Once the scan is accepted, the user can either scan more pages to be appended to the accepted job, press “Next Scan” and start a new document that will be delivered to the same destination or simply press “Complete” to end the transaction and process and deliver the scan.

9 Scanned Document After “Complete” has been pressed, the document is processed, which can take several minutes if it is an editable or searchable format. After the document has processed it can be viewed at its final destination.

10 Final Product In this example a scanned document was converted to a Searchable PDF. The screen shot to the left shows the searchable text being displayed in a PDF viewer.
