INSTITUTION: Post University, Waterbury,CT NAMES of Team members: Dylan Clyne, Maura Bozeman and Randal Streck VISION – Our departmental mission statement is to : “provide students with a solid foundation in the scientific principles and skills needed to succeed in careers in the life sciences, science, and health care. The program is student-centered with emphasis on inquiry-based learning, so that students can develop the problem-solving skills essential for solving real-world scenarios.” Strengths: What are your department’s strong points with regard to the Vision and Change recommendations? Our Faculty/Student ratio very good, we are student focused, we just reassessed course outcomes and aligned to V&C so our curriculum alignment with V&C is good and we have Administrative support.

We completed the PULSE V&C rubrics and selected Faculty Support as the area we need to work on most. We need to: Document what we are already doing Make a strategic plan Communicate with Administration Improve communication with adjuncts with regard to teaching practice

What are your short term outcomes? to document what we are doing to build a community for faculty to share resources using Blackboard What are your midterm outcomes? to share more about teaching strategies with associate faculty to develop a strategic plan for the department to develop a student check list to encourage students make a plan for their academic career What are your long term outcomes? to work with school of education

What activities will help you meet these goals? Attend workshops conference Conduct more meetings with associate (adjunct) faculty What resources will you use? PULSE Community website and networks

What is your timeline for planning and implementation? Short term: summer 2014 Mid term: spring 2015 Long term : 2yrs (2016)
