3 3 Key questions Some key questions that will help shape ARENA’s approach to renewable energy in the dairy sector: What technical approaches are needed to overcome barriers o Energy use assessments and feasibility studies o Others What commercial approaches are needed o ESCO / PPA models etc. What is the size of the potential market for renewable energy in the dairy industry o MW of thermal generation? o $ of potential investment

4 4 ARENA EoI Requirements Online EoI with brief project plan that includes: An outline of the proposed project, including: o Indicative budget and timeline; o Any collaborators or subcontractors; and o Clear demonstration as to how the project delivers value towards ARENA’s Renewables for Industrial Processes objectives Demonstration of ability of applicant to deliver a project of this type and meet ARENA’s funding obligations Value of knowledge generated via the Project (e.g. lessons learned) and how key learnings are captured and shared

5 5 ARENA Full Application requirements Online application with detailed project plan that includes: Detailed description of the proposed project, including: o Detailed budget, timeline and well articulated activity plan indicating stages and phases; o Any collaborators or subcontractors and their capability; and o clear demonstration as to how the project delivers value towards ARENA’s Renewables for Industrial Processes objectives Demonstration of ability of applicant to deliver a project of this type and meet ARENA’s funding obligations Risk Management and WHS Plan Knowledge Sharing Plan setting out how key knowledge generated via the Project (e.g. lessons learned) will be captured and shared A detailed budget and financial model for the Project; Evidence of funding commitments Analysis to demonstrate a clear path to further cost reductions
