OCR specimen translation into T.L. 20 marks ◦ As elsewhere, music is hugely popular with youngsters in France. Two out of five of them consider it to be a kind of dependence bordering on addiction, while many others tend to underestimate the amount of leisure time spent on its consumption. Despite the more convenient access provided by the digital revolution, it appears that traditional media continue to play a significant role in introducing new songs and performers. Radio is not dead yet!

It is difficult for an immigrant to fit into a new society unless he has friends or relatives there. Even if he speaks a little French, he will have to try to improve the language as soon as possible. Immigrants have been accused of taking the jobs of those who already live there. In fact, they often end up accepting the work which the latter refuse to do. If people were more tolerant, immigrants would have fewer problems.

Many pupils are taking to the streets in several towns to express their anger. Although we all have the right to protest against what we consider unjust, these demonstrations should be condemned because of the violent clashes they have caused between demonstrators and police. Most young people understand that brandishing banners, lighting candles and protesting in silence or in a peaceful way is acceptable; threatening the police is not.
