Tennessee Parental Involvement Standards Overview Tennessee’s Parental Involvement Standards were enacted by Senate Bill No. 293 in 2009. These standards are based on the PTA’s National Standards for Family-School Partnerships and were formally adopted by the State Board of Education beginning in the 2010-11 school year. The law requires the Tennessee Department of Education to report compliance information for each LEA and public school on the department’s Report Card annually beginning with the 2010-11 school year. The law affects all public schools: non-Title I, charter schools, and Title I. For more information on the PTA’s National Standards for Family-School Partnerships, please visit: http://www.pta.org/nationalstandardshttp://www.pta.org/nationalstandards To see Parent Involvement state averages for previous years, please visit: http://www.tn.gov/education/topic/report-card http://www.tn.gov/education/topic/report-card
