Mini-Lesson: How to Write a Reflective Statement

reflection: a fixing of the thoughts on something; careful consideration. IB wants to see that you have developed your skills as a reflective writer. Reflective Writing

Prompt: How was your understanding of cultural and contextual considerations of the work developed through the interactive oral? Reminder: Refer to the rubric to remind yourself of the assessment criteria. Length: 300-400 words. Details for Reflective Statement

Context = the author’s biography, setting, place in a literary tradition, historical events, reception of the work Culture = linguistic and social background, ethnicity and the like, both of the author and the time and place of the work itself Reminder: culture and context
