What is Photoshop? A pixel-based image editing program. What is a pixel? The square grids that computer monitors are use to emit RED, BLUE and GREEN light (RGB). Pixel art is also called RASTER or BITMAP.

How do I launch Photoshop? Double click the Photoshop shortcut on the desktop. Photoshop is CROSS PLATFORM it functions virtually identically on both PCs and Macs.

What are the modifier keys? Keys used in combination with a letter key to perform a predefined task. 1. CONTROL: CTRL Most often used. 2. SHIFT: For upper case letters and further modifies the CTRL key. 3. ALT: Used for alternate functions, usually in combination with CTRL and SHIFT.

What is RESOLUTION? The measurement of the total number of pixels in an image. HIGH-RES 300 DPI or dots per inch Good for printing LOW-RES 72 DPI or dots per inch Good for website graphics

What Screen Mode? Press the F key to cycle between 3 different ways of viewing your screen.

How can I arrange my open documents? Click the arrange documents button and choose an icon.

How do I ZOOM? Zooming is changing the magnification of your screen. This is view only, it does not effect how a document prints. Zoom tool: shortcut Z Click on the part of the image to enlarge. ALT click the canvas to reduce.
