4 LOGIN-ATTENDANCE Wait until the class begins and then you can login your attendance. Login attendance everyday. Attend the entire class after login. You won’t be able to give your attendance outside the class (online).

5 MICROSOFT EXCEL A Spreadsheet is a computer equivalent of a ledger. Uses in accounting, keeping a track of budget, charts, graphs, etc. Microsoft Excel is a spreadsheet program used to create spreadsheets. Excel Trivia.Excel Trivia

9 ENTERING DATA INTO WORKSHEETS Four types of data you can input: Text Date Values (numbers) Formulas 9

10 FORMULAS Formulas are entries that have an equation that calculates the value to display. Symbols –Addition + –Subtraction – –Multiplication * –Division / –Exponentiation ^ Formulas must begin with = 10

11 SIMPLE CELL FORMULAS In cell E4, enter “4” In cell E5, enter “9” In cell D6, enter “Sum: “ In cell E6, enter “=sum(E4,E5)” and press enter. You should see “13” as the result in E6. “~” symbol is usually under the Escape key on the keyboard. To see the formula that you entered, press “ctrl + ~” on your keyboard. 11

13 SEARCHING ON WEB General Searches: search: Springfield, Illinois The above terms will give you search results which contain the terms both Springfield and Illinois Specific Searches with exact search phrases: search: "Springfield Illinois" The above search terms will give you search results which contain terms "Springfield Illinois" exactly in given order. You will need to search with quotes. OR Searches: search: Springfield OR Illinois The above search terms will give you search results which contain the terms Springfield or Illinois 13

14 SEARCHING ON WEB To exclude a term from a search: search: Springfield -Illinois The above search terms will give you search results with Springfield but not Illinois. There is no space between minus sign and Illinois in above search terms. To restrict search to a specific site: search: Football site:wvu.edu The above search terms will give you search results on Football related information on WVU website. To restrict search to a specific file type (pdf): search: Football filetype:pdf site:wvu.edu The above search terms will give you search results on pdf files with Football related information on WVU website. 14
