3. This course explores the meaning, history, and aesthetics of dance. It includes cross cultural comparisons and the influence of other art forms throughout the history of dance. The course is primarily lecture with demonstrations, video, and some experiential work.

They will also examine how their own personal, historical, and cultural perspectives affect their responses to artistic performance.
