2. Shelter and Security This is a cool-down cube that would be placed in the corner of the classroom to give children a place to regain composure. Inside the cube, there is a blanket, books about calming down, and a visual about cooling down. This would make children feel safe and secure, as it would be available for their use at any time. 3. Social Contact A classroom rug is used to promote student interaction by allowing the students to sit close to one another, but in a controlled way because they each have their own letter to sit on. 4. Symbolic Identification To make the classroom more personal, the birthdays of each student are displayed on candles and put on the cake when it’s in the month of their birthday. This shows the students that the class room is there’s and tells each visitor a little bit about them.

5. Task Instrumentality These shelves demonstrate exemplary organization and make it easy to find learning supplies. I think organization is the most important aspect of task instrumentality because it saves time and allows students (and teachers) to accomplish more in their learning environment. 6. Pleasure Displaying the students’ work (whether it’s artwork, academic, or both!) is a way to make them feel proud and inspire them. This picture depicts Olympic torches that each student made when they were learning about the Olympics. This is a great way to make a room attractive and personal because the teacher is displaying the students’ work but doing so in a well thought-out and non-busy way.

7. Growth Having a class library where books are organized by subject such as farms or birds can satisfy a student’s specific interest, get them excited about reading, and most importantly, expose them to new interests/reading materials.
