You must start a new paragraph with a new idea. A paragraph should not be longer than ½ a page.

Topic Sentence-tells the reader what your paragraph is about. Formula-a specific topic + a particular feeling or feature about the topic Example: The huge sculpture known as the Great Sphinx prompts feelings of awe and curiosity from visitors. Body Sentences Closing Sentence

A complete sentence includes: Capital Letter Subject Predicate Complete Thought Terminal Punctuation

Terminal punctuation is the punctuation at the end of a sentence. A sentence is incomplete if it doesn’t contain terminal punctuation. Three types of terminal punctuation: Period (.) Question Mark (?) Exclamation Point (!)

You need to capitalize all your proper nouns. I is a proper noun. For example: My mom told me I needed to clean my room-correct. My mom told me i needed to clean my room-incorrect. You are important. Capitalize yourself!

When you come to the end of a complete thought, put a period at the end of your sentence. If you have two lines of writing without a period, go back and look. Chances are, you need a period. Please ask me if you’re not sure where you need to end your sentence. Complete thought (Always put a period at the end of your sentence).
