Vocabulary Cell – the basic unit of a living thing Bacterial Cell - a cell that does NOT have a nucleus Chloroplast - Part of plant cell that makes food (photosynthesis); NOT in animal cells Mitochondrion- The part of all cells that provides energy!

ALL LIVING THINGS ARE COMPOSED OF CELLS AND HAVE THE FOLLOWING CHARACTERISTICS: Need food and water Made up of one or many CELLS Move (or moving parts) Get rid of waste Grow Reproduce
