The Tool This research aims to develop a tool for integrated planning evaluation of SUDS amenity and storm water management aspects. The tool has two themes: 1.Amenity 2.Storm water management A number of indicators are associated with each theme A score of 1-3 will be used to assess the value of each indicator

Themes and Indicators Amenity IndicatorsStorm water quantity indicators 1 Access (roads, footpaths nearby)Levels of attenuation (2yr storage-1level, 2 yr and 10 yr-2 levels, 2 yr,10yr and 30 yr storage- 3levels) 2 Water visibility (visible water on surface example. pond) Attenuation storage (limits runoff similar to greenfield) 3 Aesthetics (associated scenic beauty) Interception volume (storage from leaves, grasses and trees) 4 Passive security ( houses, schools, roads etc nearby) Long term storage (infiltration storage in soil) 5 Multi-use (play, storage, biodiversity) Peak Flow (max. flow in receiving water) 6 Safety (risk of drowning) 7 Ownership ( whether public, institutional, private)
