Issue Hong Kong’s air is usually heavily polluted. 53% of the time, Hong Kong’s pollution is caused by power plants, Trucks and ships. This pollution could lead to serious health problems. It is now very difficult to improve the air quality in Hong Kong without changing the life style of most people in Hong Kong.

Number of Hazy days in HK The number of Hazy days in HK between 1980 and 2004 has dramatically increased.

Health Air pollution can Exacerbate asthma Impair Lung Function Raise the risk of Cardio Respiratory deaths by 2 to 3 percent Some Air pollutants that are in the pollution include SO2 and NO2, which are dangerous.

Sulphur dioxide (SO2) Breathing it in might cause Laboured Breathing Coughing A sore throat permanent pulmonary damage When in contact with eyes Redness and pain Air Pollutants

Nitrogen dioxide (NO2) Breathing it in could cause Lung edema Long term effects could include serious health problems.

Solutions Change lifestyle. Save energy Use more of the renewable energy sources.

Conclusion Air quality in HK is getting worse. This will lead to severe health problems To improve air quality in HK, we need to: Start to save energy Use more of the renewable energy sources
